Swish pattern

An NLP technique that replaces an unwanted automatic response with a desired one by manipulating submodalities.

The swish links an unwanted trigger image to a desired self-image so that whenever the trigger appears, the desired image automatically replaces it. The replacement is fast (the 'swish'), repeated several times until the trigger no longer reliably retrieves the old image. Common applications: habit change, automatic stress responses, performance anxiety.
