Meta program

A higher-order filter that shapes how a person consistently sorts experience (e.g. toward-vs-away, internal-vs-external reference).

Meta programs are the unconscious filters that produce a person's recurring patterns. Common axes include: toward goals vs away from problems, internally referenced vs externally referenced, options vs procedures, big-picture vs detail, sameness vs difference. Identifying a client's dominant meta programs lets a trainer phrase suggestions in the form the client's unconscious is already running.
