NLP TRAINER, FOUNDER OF ITS TRAINING

Ian McDermott

British NLP trainer who founded International Teaching Seminars and helped establish NLP coaching as a professional practice in the UK.

PRINCIPAL CONTRIBUTION

Professional NLP training in the UK; NLP applied to coaching, healthcare, and organizational change.

Ian McDermott founded International Teaching Seminars (ITS) in 1988 and has trained NLP Practitioners and Master Practitioners in the UK for over three decades. ITS pioneered the professional adoption of NLP in coaching and was an early proponent of integrating NLP with systemic and organisational work.

McDermott has written widely-read books on NLP, including The NLP Coach (with Wendy Jago, 2001) and Way of NLP (with Joseph O'Connor, 2001). His work emphasises NLP as part of a broader change-work toolkit rather than a self-contained methodology.
